NOTE: The Ethernet
facility is included as a standard built-in feature of the newer SBS-1e and
SBS-1er models.
The Kinetic Ethernet Add-on for the SBS-1 is a unique self-fit module that
fits snugly inside the SBS-1 mk1 & mk2. The image shows a top view of the
module fitted within the SBS.
What will it allow me to do?
By installing this additional module it will enable the user to
connect via USB (standard) or Ethernet.
You can now connect to your SBS via your home network or over the
internet. If you have a fixed IP you can watch your SBS-1 activity from any
location in the world!
It also means of course that you can view the SBS from any PC on your
home or office network.
The permutations of what you can do with wireless routers and fixed IP
addresses are endless.
The unit is a simple to fit unit, supplied with full instructions, should
take less than 10 minutes to fit, with NO soldering.
A DC power supply is required to power the SBS1-EM module through the SBS-1
itself:
SBS-1 MK1 supplied by Aircraft Tracking Avionics included an Australian
compliant 5 volt power supply.
SBS-1Mk2 require a 12 volt DC power supply (minimum 150mA), which are
readily available at electronic stores, etc.
This image shows the module installed in the SBS with the ethernet socket
showing.
